About Name 100 Women

A free memory challenge built around a simple question: how quickly can you recall 100 real women?

The Challenge

Enter one woman's name at a time and try to reach 100. The timer begins with your first submission, and there is no overall time limit. Each person can score only once.

The challenge is designed for recall, not trivia clues. When memory stalls, moving across fields, countries, and historical periods often unlocks more names.

Strict Name Verification

Answers are checked against Wikidata, with English Wikipedia used as a fallback for entity discovery. The validator checks name and alias similarity, confirms that the entity is a human identified as a woman, and requires a public Wikimedia sitelink.

Accepted people are deduplicated by Wikidata ID, so entering a stage name and legal name for the same person still counts once. Public knowledge bases can contain gaps, so a real person may occasionally be rejected when the available data is incomplete or ambiguous.

Results and Leaderboard

Completed and unfinished runs contribute to the aggregate statistics shown on the home page. Only verified 100-out-of-100 runs qualify for the public leaderboard. New players receive an automatically generated anonymous label rather than creating an account.

Independent Project

Name 100 Women is an independent project and is not affiliated with the Wikimedia Foundation. Wikidata and Wikipedia content remains subject to the policies and licenses of their respective projects.

The application runs on TanStack Start, React, Cloudflare Workers, and Cloudflare D1. Ready to try it? Play the challenge.
